Frequently asked questions
Is Livemore Bio a medical device?
No. Livemore Bio is research infrastructure. It is not a medical device, not clinical decision support and not dosing guidance. Nothing it produces is a measurement taken from a person, and every result says so.
Has anything been validated?
Not yet. The six reference programs are 0 of 6 validated in vivo, and no body system is person-calibrated, context-validated or independently replicated. Every result reports its evidence_state and qualification_state; today results are modeled and NOT_QUALIFIED. See the evidence model.
What exists today, and what does not?
Today you can install and run the three services, the endocrine and cardiovascular models, genome-scale human metabolism (Human-GEM 2.0), the six reference programs, governed twins and cohorts, and the virtual LIFE Patch. The physical LIFE Patch is a design target that has not been manufactured, and the Cendos wet lab is planned but not built. See what this release is.
Why does it refuse some questions?
Because the admitted evidence cannot answer them. When a question outruns the admitted evidence, Livemore Bio returns a typed refusal that names the missing measurement instead of a plausible-looking number. See worked examples.
Which operating systems are supported?
macOS, Linux and WSL2 natively, and every operating system through Docker. Windows is refused natively on purpose, because the owner-only file permissions that protect local data cannot be expressed there. See installation.
Do I need a GitHub account?
No. You do not need a GitHub account, git or a login to install or run Livemore Bio.
Can I load patient data?
Not into an evaluation install. The platform is not tenant-isolated and not approved for production PHI or partner-confidential inputs. See security and data protection.
Where does my data go?
By default it runs locally. The services listen on 127.0.0.1 only, local data lives in an owner-only directory, and patch journals, bus events and snapshots are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM. Optional exports, such as a Neo4j export, go only where you configure them, with credentials you supply.
What happens if the installer fails?
It stops, names the failing step and leaves your previous install untouched. It never half-installs, and it activates the livemore command only after the full test suite passes.
How is Livemore Bio licensed?
Livemore Bio is released under the MIT License. Third-party models, datasets and anatomy assets keep their own licenses. See technology and acknowledgements.
How do I cite it?
Use the BibTeX entry on technology and acknowledgements, and also cite the underlying models recorded in each run's provenance.
How do I work with Livemore?
We are looking for pharmaceutical, biotech, laboratory, device and clinical partners. See the roadmap.
